Nepal Ring Wrestling Association to Hold Summer Slam Event April 14th
The Nepal Ring Wrestling Association will be back in action on April 14th with their Summer Slam event.
The country of Nepal follows a traditional Hindu calendar known as the Vikrami calendar and the April 14th event will coincide with New Year’s Day in Nepal.
Kicking off the new year with wrestling is something that everyone here at WrestleMap is very much in support of. But this event will help set the tone for this year of action in the NRWA. Instead of crowning champions that hang on to and defend their title in title matches, the main event of every NRWA show is used to crown a champion of the event. Each main event is decided by the match making committee depending on a wrestler’s performance, performance in training and skill level that they have displayed as of late. So winning the first championship of the year can be very important and is a big first step toward having a successful year for one of NRWA’s wrestlers.
After coming out of the 2021 National Championship as champion, will Nawukote Tiger get an opportunity to repeat as champion? Or will his challenger from the National Championship final, David Maharjan, have an opportunity to claim a championship after coming so close at the National Championship? Or will the NRWA’s matchmakers choose two entirely different contenders and give them an opportunity to start the new year on a roll?
The Nepal Ring Wrestling Association is a touring wrestling promotion that holds events throughout the country of Nepal. The April 14th event will be held in rural Suryachaur in Shivapuri Gaupalika, Nuwakot. The event poster has been provided in both English and Nepali for precise information for our readers from Nepal that are interested in attending the event.
