Set to kick start pro-wrestling management & promotion back home
The world is celebrating the former World Light Heavy Weight pro Wrestling Champion Morris Atula of Nigeria today 7th March, 2021 as he is a year older.
Atula popularly known as the ‘’Golden Warrior’’ and who is based in the United Kingdom was a professional wrestler, sports manager and administrator of appreciable repute. This great Nigerian won the World Light Heavyweight wrestling Championship title from Brady Boone of USA at Portland Oregon, USA in 1986 and successfully defended it worldwide has immensely contributed to the growth and development of the mat game worldwide.
He knocked out British Pit-Bull Johnson in the final defence which took place at the National Stadium, Surulere Lagos, Nigeria in 2004 and then retired undefeated after wining many laurels back home and abroad.
Atula’s decision to return to pro wrestling management and promotion back home is aimed at restoring the nation’s lost glory on the global sports scene of which Nigeria pro wrestling is a great part.
Atula who established Multi Sports Academy in London said that Nigeria as a nation requires long term preparatory programme to succeed during international sporting championship and this is not limited to professional Sports alone. Nigeria must return back to basics in order to regain lost glory, he said.
