Nigeria Pro Wrestling Federation getting national media coverage heading into August 28th event

Heading in to their international pro wrestling event to celebrate the life and reign of the Asagba of Asaba, Joseph Chike Edozien, as well as the celebration of the establishment of the Nigerian state of Delta State, the Nigeria Pro Wrestling Federation is getting some national press coverage in their home of Nigeria.

Today, stories were printed in both The Sun and The Guardian, which are two of the country’s most popular news sources, that discussed the upcoming August 28th event.

Both reports seem to confirm what we had previously published, that the federation was looking to postpone the event until August 28th (we originally reported August 29th but had received notification of the date confirmation recently) due to logistic issues. We have also been able to confirm since that time that the plan still remains to bring in international wrestlers from around Africa for the event, as both The Sun and The Guardian have also reported.

One update that WrestleMap has learned that we can add to these reports is that the talent from Egypt and the United Arab Emirates will unfortunately be unable to make the new August 28th date.

It’s great to see the NPWF getting national coverage for their upcoming event that is set to take place in Asaba, Nigeria. Let’s hope that this expanded coverage will lead to a large crowd in attendance come the 28th!
