Belgian group gathers to present year end awards
The Revue Du Catch Belge/D’Afrique group convened with their board members and some of Belgium’s independent wrestlers in Brussels on December third. The purpose of the get together was to honor the best of 2022 in the group’s opinion. Awards ranged from best African promoter, which went to WrestleMap’s own Olusesan Olukoya for his work with Pro Wrestling Africa, to individual awards for Belgian wrestlers. Among those honored were James Collins who was identified as the year’s Young Hope, the Sensation Warriors who were identified as the Tag Team of the Year, and Animal Lion who was recognized as the best singles wrestler in the Democratic Republic of the Congo for the year. There was also an exhibition match that took place at the event between Black Cobra, a long time veteran of the Belgian scene, and Big Punch, for the PXE Title, a junior’s title of sorts. That impromptu match ended in no contest with Big Punch retaining the title.
