Big update on this weekend’s Nigeria Pro Wrestling Federation 40th Anniversary event including press release with card details and preview video

The Nigeria Pro Wrestling Federation held a press conference today to make their upcoming 40th anniversary event official and introduce some details about the event. We were lucky enough to obtain President John Uche’s speech to the press. The speech revealed some very interesting details about the card. Three championship title belts will be competed for during the event, including one in a ladder match. More details are revealed in the speech given by President John Uche below.

UCHE AT A PRESS BRIEFING ON WEDNESDAY 17TH NOVEMBER, 2021 ON THE 40TH YEARS ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION/ NATIONAL UNITY WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIP OF THE FEDERATION COMING UP ON SUNDAY 21ST NOVEMBER, 2021 AT THE TESLIM BALOGUN STADIUM, SURULERE, LAGOS.

All Protocols Duly Observed.

It is my pleasure to welcome you all to this short but very necessary press briefing of today Wednesday 17th November, 2021 because of the magnitude of the championship and the personalities involved.

The 40th Anniversary celebration being organized by the Nigeria Professional Wrestling Federation is to announce the revival and arrival of professional wrestling championship again in Nigeria.

Professional Wrestling was the first sport in Nigeria to be well accepted and to reach limelight but is it unfortunate that it went into extinction over the years due to the bad management and neglect from the government and we are now resuscitating the sport.

The Federation has lots of future talents who will soon shake the world with actions but we need to unveil this timely event first to unable us commence those other championships and national professional wrestling activities.

We could have done more in preparations of this event than what we have been able to do as lots of supports in the area of logistics are needed to make this event a memorable one. The sport’s federation is incapacitated with funds and needed supports from states and ministries who are yet to come to our aids but then we need to forge ahead. We indeed need financial supports from all sectors to make our championships great.

We are sincerely grateful to our foreign alliances and partners who believe in us and what we are doing in Nigeria. The number one world pro wrestling media organization-WRESTLEMAP from USA; with promoting bodies like, London in UK based PRO WRESTLING WORLD FEDERATION (PWWF); GLOBAL CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING (GCW) based in Georgia, Atlanta; WORLD GLADIATOR WRESTLING (WGW) of NY, USA and the UNDERGROUND PRO WRESTLING based in Glasgow, Scotland. We appreciate you all even as we working together henceforth to achieve meaningful goals.

The Nigeria Professional Wrestling Federation will continue to be a ‘’VOICE’’ for raising potential wrestlers from Nigeria as exemplified by former world title holders like late Power Mike, Mike Bamidele, Ben Lionheart and others who won various world titles.

The success of Sunday’s event which promises to be an epoch making in the annals of the sports history in Nigeria will not only be used to continue other championships, but it will also be pivotal in improving the global image of Nigeria with other countries in the areas of sports and tourism development .

We want to also announce to you that three different titles have been lined up for grab on Sunday 21st November, 2021.

1. Chief Martin Agbaso Arican International wrestling Heavyweight Championship Belt will be unveiled and competed for between Nigeria and D.R. Congo heavyweight champion.

2. The Explosive Ladder Championship Belt will also be competed for on Sunday.

3. Women championship belt will be competed for among our women wrestlers.

I therefore desire that you help us to tell the world that professional wrestling is back in Nigeria with new techniques and scientific actions.
