APAC Wrestling kicks off championship tournament this weekend in Malaysia

The tournament to crown the first champion of Malaysia’s APAC Wrestling is set to kick off on Sunday, August 21st at APAC Wrestling Ground Zero in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. The event, APAC Underground I, was originally scheduled to be a private event but due to high public demand, the show has been open to the public and has nearly sold out.

So far announced for Underground I are multiple first round matches in the tournament to crown the inaugural APAC Wrestling Champion. Those matches include Australia’s Wam Bam Bellows taking on Serigala and Shaukat facing off with “Crypto Bro” LK.

Along with the announced matches, a partial bracket for the tournament has been released so far, which you can see below.

DJ Kal and Gotham will also be meeting in the first round but it’s unclear at this point if that match will take place at Underground I or in the future. Other wrestlers that have been announced for the tournament include several stars from around the Southeast Asian wrestling scene including Destroyer Dharma, “The Statement” Andruew Tang, and Jake De Leon with more wrestlers expected to be announced soon.

Underground I will also feature some women’s division action as well as the visiting Alexis Lee will get in the ring with the the first hijab-wearing wrestler, the immensely popular Nor “Phoenix” Diana.
