Emperor of Austria Tournament Announced
Pro Wrestling Österreich has announced their plans to hold an Emperor of Austria (or Kaiser von Österreich) tournament to crown Austria’s top professional wrestler.
The tournament idea is loosely based on the WWE King of The Ring tournament. However, the Emperor of Austria will be decided in a one night tournament that consists of two rounds. While the final format of the the first round is not yet decided, PWÖ has informed WrestleMap that it will either consist of two triple threat matches, three singles matches or two singles matches with the winner of the first round bouts advancing to the final with the opportunity to be crowned the Emperor of Austria.
Several names have been announced so far for the event which is set to take place on September 11, 2021. These names include some of Austria’s very best wrestlers including Martn Pain, Jessy Jay, “Avalanche” Robert Dreissker, Peter White, Slammerella, Mexxberg, Chris Colen, and Igoooor. At least one tag team bout will take place at the September 11th show from Kulturhaus Pottschach in Pottschach, Ternitz, Austria as PWÖ has informed WrestleMap that a team from Hungary is scheduled to make the trip.
