Nigerian wrestlers ready to rumble in Abuja for national security, peace and unity

In an effort to promote national security, peace and unity in Nigeria, the executive team of the Nigeria Pro Wrestling Federation (NPWF) has taken it upon themselves to organize the National Security, Peace and Unity Pro Wrestling Championship in Nigeria to emphasise the need for security measures, peaceful co-existence, unity and mutual understanding in Nigerian communities.

The Nigeria Professional Wrestling Federation was officially inaugurated in Nigeria by the then president and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Alhaji Shehu Usman Aliu Shagari, on the 27th September 1981 with aims and objectives of developing the sport as well as supporting the government in the area of Human Capacity Development and Nation Building and to also oversee the sport of pro wrestling in Nigeria.

The President of the Nigerian Pro Wrestling Federation, High Chief John O. Uche announced during a press briefing that there is no better time to host a championship of this magnitude in addressing national security, peace and unity in Nigeria than now and that has necessitated the federation to come up with this Pro Wrestling Championship billed to hold at the Cyprian Ekwensi Center for Arts & Culture, Area 10, Garki, Abuja on Sunday 13th June, 2021 by 4pm.

According to the President of the national body of the grunt and groan sport, ’’We know we will be showcasing the best Nigerian talents at this event as the wrestlers are set to storm Abuja, the federal capital city, by Friday 11th June for the championship. As the change agent that the Nigeria Pro Wrestling Federation is, perfection is our watchword and based on that fact, wrestlers from Lagos, Onitsha, Owerri and Akwa Ibom are ready, prepared and good to go for the Abuja championship’’ explained Uche.

The technical director of the federation, Chief Vincent Dimanozie (Iron Bone) made a roll call of wrestlers who are ready and set to participate in the security, peace and unity championship and they are: Mighty Man, Strong Bone Erujeje, Flying Danko, Aliking the Action Disaster, Mr. Sharpman & Powerful Young Mike (De Grippers), Power Vic & Zion Lion (Dakkada Thunders), Mighty Progress, Rasman Iron and in the Ladies category; Iron Lady Becky, Stylish ’’J’’, Alexandra the Queen and De Blaze.
