Ultra popular 100% Lucha promotion reunites for one day special in Argentina

This past weekend of October 21-23, 2022 in Argentina, a special reunion took place. Several wrestlers from the ultra-popular program 100% Lucha reunited for a live event at the AGS Flow gaming convention in Buenos Aires. 100% Lucha was an extremely popular, nationally televised, pro wrestling television program that ran from 2006 to 2010 on the Argentine television station Telefé. The program featured wrestlers that would go on to become legends on the Argentina pro wrestling scene including Vicente Viloni, La Masa, and Hip Hop Man. Japanese veteran Dick Togo was even a featured wrestler for a time and a former 100% Lucha champion. Despite the program’s big success and popularity (WWE even attempted to buy the franchise!), management changes at the Telefé station led to the cancellation of the program and since then, despite multiple examples of popular nationwide nationally broadcast pro wrestling programs (Titanes En El Ring being the prior example. Titanes has since launched a reboot), there has not been much of an attempt to air a regular pro wrestling show on national TV in Argentina since. Nostalgia in pro wrestling is often a big selling point and this 100% Lucha reunion event does not seem to have done much to discount that belief as a good crowd turned out for the event. You can check out the full event, which clocked in at just over one hour, at this Twitch link.
