Argentina’s Legion Nueva Era introduces new talent in showcase event

Legion Nueva Era Argentina invests in the future, as last Sunday’s show, “Legion Dojo”, was a showcase of future homegrown talent who trained in their own school. The blistering heat of the day couldn’t keep the audience away from the display of Legion’s new crop of talent.

The show started with an exhibition match with two established wrestlers. Adriano, Catch Argentino’s Metropolitan Champion and Maikol, who recently had a hard hitting match against Legion’s Champion, Pandemia. Both of them serve as instructors in Legion’s wrestling school so they heated up the crowd for their students with a great opening bout.

The first of the new wrestlers to debut was Orochi, showcasing a mixture of brawling, striking and some technique. He fought against the undefeated Ricky Rocca in a match with a lot of animosity between both contenders. In the end, experience triumphed over youth as Rocca managed to get the win.

Dogo Farias attacks Orochi

As Orochi was gathering himself after the defeat, another newcomer dropped into the mix. The hulking Dogo Farias arrived at the ring and decimated the spent Orochi, leaving as suddenly as he arrived, establishing himself as a force to be reckoned with.

The next match pitted the debuting Mat de Mul against Legion’s resident wrecking ball, Guido el Demoledor. De Mul showcased supreme striking skills, connecting on a myriad of kicks against Guido, but the resilience of the toughest powerhouse in Legion was too much for the newcomer to handle. After a heavy hitting match, Guido took the win, but De Mul took the audience's attention.

A brief break between matches was filled with a showcase of other students of the Dojo that have yet to debut. Valentin, Mauro, Matias and Nahuel, guided by Francisco Rolón (Owner and Booker of Legion), did a display of rolls and basic training moves that were interrupted by Ricky Rocca. The undefeated master of the Open Challenge questioned Rolón’s training methods and for his troubles he was brutalized by a display of signature moves by the students. With a bow, the students left the ring and the event continued.

The audience exploded as Jeyco entered the ring. The deafening cheers of the crowd were a promise of a great match and it was fulfilled. The newcomer had to face Legion’s Champion, Pandemia, in a match that at times was too close for comfort for the Champion, who was on the receiving end of most of the offense during the match. In the end Pandemia, managed to overcome the almost inexhaustible energy of Jeyco and won the match, getting booed by most of the crowd, who were backing the debuting wrestler.

Finally in the main event of the show, Taga Santos wrestled the veteran Mexican Luchador, MCkiller. While other matches had a good mixture of technical showcases and spots, Taga and MCkiller engaged in a violent brawl, with the echoes of skin rupturing chops echoing all over. An extremely physical match, Taga attempted to use raw power to overcome Mckiller’s ability and after a crushing move he managed to do so, winning the match and closing the event with a victory for the first crop of talent coming out of Legion’s wrestling school.

Overall a great event with good energy, the new talent did well showcasing their skills and determination to become wrestlers. Next Sunday, Legion has an event called “Mufamania,” mufa being a slang word for bad luck. This is the third time attempting to make this event happen (previously known as Pandemiamania, booked by the Champion himself) but each time they failed for different reasons.
