Multiple New Champions Crowned This Month in Pakistan
The month of March was a busy one for the pro wrestling scene in Pakistan. Multiple title changes took place in the Middle Eastern country that has proven to be a fertile area for pro wrestling growth.
At Pro Wrestling Federation of Pakistan’s “Burn to Ashes” event on February 28th, RJ Faddy claimed the PWFP Heavyweight Championship. At the same show, which was held in Karachi at the PAF Museum, AA Junior won the PWFP Hardcore Championship.
Meanwhile, on the 15th of March from the KMC Sports Complex in Karachi, a shocking upset rocked the Pakistani wrestling world as Noom toppled The Kovu Brandon for Revolution Eastern Wrestling’s top title, The Ring of Slam World Heavyweight Championship. Noom’s shocking victory put an end to a long reign by The Kovu Brandon, a multi-time champion who is arguably the most successful pro wrestler in Pakistan today. Also at the April 15th show, which was titled Burnout, Raja Naveed was named the first ever REW Fight or Die Champion while X MAK captured the REW Asian Championship.
Pakistan’s growing independent wrestling scene continues to grow with a total of six promotions spread throughout many of the major cities in the country. International stars like Sammy Guevara, Fuego Del Sol have recently wrestled or made appearances in Pakistan. Pakistan is beginning to emerge as an indie wrestling hotbed in the Middle East and Asia.
