Pro wrestling inaugurated in Togo

Professional wrestling has been officially inaugurated in Togo. Togo, officially the Togolese Republic, is a country in West Africa. It is bordered by Ghana to the west, Benin to the east and Burkina Faso to the north. It is one of the developing African countries. It extends south to the Gulf of Guinea, where its capital, Lomé, is located. A small, tropical country that has a population of approximately 8 million.

At the Inauguration, the Secretary General of Pro Wrestling Africa (PWA) who also doubles as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Golden Wrestling Federacy (GWF) based in Florida, USA, Olusesan Olukoya, emphasized that it is of paramount importance to establish a wrestling association in Togo to officially oversee the smooth operation of the grunt and groan sport in Togo.

"As we can see, Togo as a nation may be small, but the nation has responsibility on her shoulders to carry. Togo is set to host West African talents to be trained in pro wrestling in the first quarter of the year 2024 and on this note, an association that would metamorphosize to a federation is needed to put things in order," explained Olukoya during the official inauguration at Agoe, Lome in Togo.

The chairman of the Togolese association, Adam Habib, who was full of appreciation to PWA and GWF for the initiative, promised to take the bull by the horns and use all the power he has to see to the growth and development of professional wrestling in Togo. "We cannot afford to be left behind when it comes to pro wrestling. Togo as a nation is very good with traditional wrestling, with grapplers with raw power we can easily transform into good pro wrestling talents. We are indeed ready and the world wrestling map should be ready to add Togo to it's list soon," concluded Adam.
