Turkish Wrestling Alliance crowns new champion, releases Rumble in the Jungle show video

Live pro wrestling action was back in Istanbul on February 20, 2022 for the first time since the summer of 2021. We previewed the event here on WrestleMap.

The return of pro wrestling to Istanbul was offered to fans free of charge at Ashgabat Fight Club and the crowd that did turn out was loud and active throughout the event. As we mentioned in our preview, the TWA title would be defended in a battle royal that would feature the champion and several other competitors fighting for the chance to win the belt . As we states in that preview, this would be an extremely tough task for the champion at the time, Taner. We had noted that making it through the battle royal could be next to impossible. It turns out that was a fair assessment.

Laleli Pimp was able to outlast all of the other entrants, including reigning TWA Champion Taner, winning the Rumble in the Jungle and becoming the new TWA Champion. This win comes exactly two years after Laleli Pimp made his TWA debut, at the 2020 edition of the Rumble in the Jungle.

To catch the full Rumble in the Jungle match, which would be a great way to familiarize yourself with some of Turkey’s DIY indie wrestlers, you can check out the full show, released to the TWA YouTube page, below.
