Pakistan’s REW and Turkey’s TWA planning first ever “Pakistan vs. Turkey” show

Despite their inability to currently hold live shows due to the Covid-19 situation in Pakistan, Revolution Eastern Wrestling is staying busy and planning big things for the future. The South Asian company released an announcement today that they had come to an agreement with the Turkish Wrestling Alliance based in Istanbul. The two companies have announced that they will be holding a joint show in the first quarter of 2022.

This event will mark the first time promotions from the two countries have worked together and will also mark the first ever Turkey vs. Pakistan pro wrestling event. From the wording issued in the release from REW, it sounds like the two groups will format the card to feature several country vs. country bouts which is always an exciting and interesting format. This joint show is another important step from REW in their quest to continue their expansion further into South Asia and beyond. Building a partnership in Turkey helps open the door for REW to begin building a fan base in Western Asia and Southern Europe. This cooperative event will also be very beneficial to the wrestlers of TWA. Being able to work with more seasoned wrestlers from outside of Turkey will help to grow the skill and experience levels of a relatively young independent wrestling scene in Turkey.

It’s only fitting that we’re able to break this news here on WrestleMap seeing as to how the relationship between these two companies began. According to sources from inside REW, the company learned of TWA’s existence and was able to reach out to them thanks to WrestleMap’s pro wrestling world map and the accompanying promotion database. Making the formation of these types of relationships easier for pro wrestling companies around the world was one of the main ideas behind the beginning of this project and we couldn’t be happier to hear that the resources available here on the site could help make this event happen!
