Blackwood returns to ESW

Kevin Blackwood will defend ESW Heavyweight Championship

After an outstanding event last at Buffalo RiverWorks, Empire State Wrestling returns to Frontier Fire Hall for its next with "Black & Blue" on Saturday, June 18 at 2176 Liberty Drive, Niagara Falls, NY 14304. This will be Empire State Wrestling’s (ESW) second event at Frontier Fire Hall this year, after previously running there in March.

The main event for "Black & Blue" will be ESW Heavyweight Champion Kevin Blackwood defending the title against the No. 1 contender Jay Freddie. There will also be a mix of local and national independent wrestling stars on the card. The other matches announced so far will include:

ESW Interstate Champion Frankie Feathers will defend his title in a four-way match including "A Cut Above the Rest" Gavin Glass, the Indiana-based Brayden Lee and the returning Keenan Moore

  • Newly crowned ESW Tag Team Champions High Seas will defend the titles for the first time against the debuting Rad BoyZ from Pennsylvania

  • 2021 Ilio DiPaolo Memorial Cup winner Vince Valor will square off against the debuting Midwestern indie wrestling star Ace Perry

  • A match featuring two women's stars making their ESW in "The Black Rose" Megan Meyers versus "The Queen of the Silver Screen" Katie Arquette

  • Former ESW Heavyweight Champion Kevin Bennett will face the Amish wrestling star Levi Everett

  • Space Monkey will make his ESW return against "The Big Bang" Jerk Cockins

  • Local favorite James Sayga will lockhorns with up-and-coming prospect Shayne Stetson

  • Former ESW Tag Team Champion Gregory Iron will team with North Tonawanda, N.Y.'s Vinnie Moon to face the young upstart tag team CXR (Chael Connors and T.J. Epixx)

  • The duo of Cerin Rahne and Jeremiah Richter will be appearing with other ESW regulars

Tickets are available for purchase at ESWTix.com. First row tickets are $35. Second row tickets are $25. General Admission tickets are $20. Ticket prices rise by $5 on event day. Doors open at 5 p.m. The opening bell is set for 6 p.m.

Pro wrestling legends Kevin Nash, Brutus Beefcake, Sgt. Slaughter, X-Pac, The Honky Tonk Man, Jim Duggan, Koko B. Ware, Bushwacker Luke, Demolition, D-Von Dudley, Raven, The Sandman, Bob Holly and several others appeared at previous ESW events.

Founded in 2002, ESW is run by Brett Stymus. Over half of ESW’s performers reside in the Western New York area. ESW runs regular shows throughout the year that draw several hundred fans with some events being attended by up to 1,000 people.
