Meet Pakistan’s first martial artist pro wrestler, Talha Ali

“The Ironman” Talha Ali is recognized as being the first martial artist pro wrestler in the young history of Pakistan’s pro wrestling scene. He is currently wrestling for Revolution Eastern Wrestling and is a member of the powerful heel faction Traitorx along with Xekay, Sohail Khilari, Sahil G, and Nawab.

Talha got his start in the squared circle in 2018 when he began training with the Professional Wrestling Federation of Pakistan. Before becoming a wrestler, Talha began training in kyukushine martial arts, starting in 2009 and earning a black belt after three years in 2012.

The Ironman won plenty of trophies and tournaments in his years competing and training in martial arts. However, his proudest accomplishment came when he was able to win a tournament sparring bout with a one kick knockout. Despite his edge and toughness, Talha says that deep down he’s a very caring and sensitive person. He’s also talented in more than just combat as he plans to begin releasing music soon as a singer and rapper in his native Urdu language. He lists his musical inspiration as Indian singer Kumar Sanu.

Talha Ali made his pro wrestling debut at the Pro Wrestling Federation of Pakistan “Rumble In Pakistan” event on April 28, 2019 in the night’s battle royal. He would then head to his current home of Revolution Eastern Wrestling in May of the same year. He has yet to win any title belts in the pro wrestling ring but believes that he should be able to end that drought soon.

Talha counts his two favorite wrestlers as The Undertaker and Sin Cara, even drawing offensive inspiration from Sin Cara and trying to incorporate some of the Lucha Libre style into his offense. He first became a fan of pro wrestling in 2010 and says that he doesn’t have any dream opponents or dream tag team partners because he would love the opportunity to get in the ring with anybody and everybody. He dreams of becoming a big wrestling star in Pakistan but would also love to have the opportunity to travel and compete internationally in the ring.

Talha is lucky to have the support of his family in his career as a pro wrestler. His family is based in Karachi, Pakistan, where the Ironman was born and raised, and they own and operate a small business in the city. Talha Ali says that he looks up most to Bruce Lee as an idol in sport and entertainment. Along with his martial art experience, he considers his strengths to be his speed, stamina and strength.

Fans in Karachi and the surrounding areas can catch Talha Ali on Venus HD TV weekly as part of Revolution Eastern Wrestling’s Venus War program. International fans can catch that program on demand at the REW YouTube channel.
