Champion of Brazzaville in Republic of the Congo celebrates birthday by uploading new match to YouTube
RTGA Du Pouvoir Lion (which roughly translates to RTGA Lion Power in English) is celebrating his birthday today! As part of that celebration, the champion of Brazzaville in the Republic of the Congo uploaded a brand new match to his YouTube channel. You can check out the new match below.
WrestleMap recently caught up with the champion of Brazzaville to learn a little bit more about him, what his title belt represents and pro wrestling in the Republic of the Congo as a whole.
Pro wrestling is a popular sport in the Republic of the Congo, something it has in common with its neighbor, Democratic Republic of the Congo. Both countries have some similarities between their wrestling scenes as well. Both can feature catch fetiche (or voodoo wrestling) at times but also feature traditional style pro wrestling. Both also determine championship title holders based on geography, with regions and cities crowning champions that represent the top wrestler in the area.
RTGA is currently the champion of Brazzaville, which is the capital and largest city in Republic of the Congo, in classic style. He shared an interesting fact with us about championship title belt holders in the Congo with us. If a champion is able to successfully defend their title belt for five years, they will be presented with a brand new title belt by the governing body that oversees the championship, in RTGA’s case that body is CONACA.
The champion indicated that he planned to spend his birthday celebrating with friends. Unfortunately, RTGA doesn’t have any upcoming matches scheduled due to the Covid-19 situation but that doesn’t mean that he’s taking time off from training. A glance at his social media will show that he’s constantly training to tone his impressive physique. With his impressive technique in the ring, his impressive physique and his dedication to his craft, it’s no surprise that RTGA is the reigning champion of Brazzaville.
RTGA is very active on social media and his YouTube channel is a great resource for fans that are interested in watching some good Congolese pro wrestling. Be sure to subscribe and wish the champion of Brazzaville a happy birthday!
