‘’BATTLE OF YAOUNDE WILL BE OUR BEST CHAMPIONSHIP IN RECENT TIMES’’ -Emmanuel Ndo
The National President of the Cameroon Pro Wrestling Federation (FECACATCH) and the 1st Vice President of Pro Wrestling Africa (PWA), Captain Emmanuel Ndo, has confirmed that all arrangements have been put in place to successfully host the much talked about Battle of Yaoundé. He analyzed that the Battle of Yaoundé 2021, schedule to be held at the Palais De Sports, a multipurpose event center in the heart of Yaounde, the capital of Cameroon, on Friday 30th April, 2021, will be the best pro wrestling show to ever be held in Cameroon in recent times, considering the plans and arrangements on the ground.
Ndo confided in our correspondent that all is set to stage this timely and epoch making event in Cameroon, a nation on the Gulf of Guinea, a Central African country of varied terrain and wildlife. Its inland capital, Yaoundé, and its biggest city, the seaport Douala, are transit points to ecotourism sites as well as beach resorts like Kribi – near the Chutes de la Lobé waterfalls, which plunge directly into the sea – and Limbe, where the Limbe Wildlife Centre houses rescued primates.
‘’We are set to host Africa and indeed the pro wrestling world at Yaoundé come April 30, 2021 to witness on the wrestling ring THE BATTLE OF YAOUNDE. We successfully hosted the last Battle of Yaoundé in 2015 amidst glamour and fanfare but the year 2021 version will be awesome. Wrestlers are all ready. The officials are set and the supporters of this initiative are willing to go the extra mile to see that it happens. So we are ready and willing to make this happen. We have made arrangements up to the level of inviting the Nigerian High Commissioner in Cameroon as well as the Cameroonian State dignitaries to welcome the Nigerian Team to this important international sporting event.’’ explained the FECACATCH National President.
According to Ndo, ‘’the event will be chaired by the Minister of Sports in Cameroon, Prof. Narcisse Mouelle Kombi, in the presence of the Nigerian High Commissioner to Cameroon among other great people in the land.’’
Cameroon is often known as “Africa in miniature” because of its geographical and cultural diversity. The Central African country has one of the highest literacy rates on the continent, and the sport of pro wrestling is doing well in the nation governed by President Paul Biya.
