Pro wrestling is heading to Nicaragua for the first time, courtesy of Mexican indie Lucha Memes
Mexican indie Lucha Memes has been gaining a lot of international buzz as of late. The Coacalco de Berriozabal based promotion recently made their first trip out of Mexico into the United States for the Guerra De Naciones (War of Nations) show in Kennedale, Texas in early 2021. Now, Lucha Memes is planning to further their international expansion and will be achieving an international pro wrestling milestone in doing so.

On July 31st, Lucha Memes will hold a show at Polideportivo El Brigadista in Matagalpa, Nicaragua and in the process will hold the first ever pro wrestling show in the country of Nicaragua. Costa Rica Wrestling Embassy, from the neighboring nation of Costa Rica, will be working with Lucha Memes to help pull off this historic first. Traveling in to a country that has never hosted a pro wrestling event is a very admirable move that could pay off big time for Lucha Memes. The company has made clear that they have a desire to bring lucha libre to more countries and creating a wrestling fanbase in Nicaragua would be great payoff, especially if that fanbase remains loyal to Lucha Memes.

So far, there is no word from Lucha Memes regarding any wrestlers or matches that will be part of this landmark event in Matagalpa. But with all of the positive buzz surrounding Lucha Memes of late, it’s safe to assume that the Nicaraguan fans are in for a great show. The involvement of CWE should only add to that.
