Argentina’s Legion Nueva Era announces second annual Mystery Box Tournament

Legion Nueva Era, who are based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, have announced the return of their innovative La Caja Misteriosa tournament, which translates in English to “mystery box.”

This will be the second installment of the tournament. The inaugural La Caja Misteriosa took place in 2021 and featured innovative stipulations for different rounds of the tournament. For example, the first round matches took place in a ring with no ropes and led to innovative offense and interesting changes in fighting style.

The prize of the tournament itself is a mystery. The winner will not know exactly what they are winning until the tournament final has concluded. Last year’s tournament winner was granted the opportunity to challenge for Catch Argentino’s Metropolitan Championship. Catch Argentino is another indie promotion based in Buenos Aires that has a close relationship with Legion Nueva Era.

This year’s tournament appears as if it will be contested over the course of one event whereas last year’s tournament was done without an audience and released in blocks to Legion’s YouTube channel. This year’s tournament is set to take place on Sunday, July 10th from the Mandril Theatre in Buenos Aires. Legion will be working in conjunction with El Tope Suicida podcast to hold the show as screenings and live interviews are also planned for the event.

Legion Nueva Era has also announced that this year’s tournament will feature three international wrestlers that are set to make their pro wrestling debut in Argentina. Set to make the trip from Chile are Cassandra, Cami Love, and Angelo Donati Jr., who hails from Italy.

More announcements on the tournament will surely be coming in the future on the Legion Facebook and Instagram pages so to keep up with what’s in store on July 10th, be sure to give those pages a follow. For fans in or around the Buenos Aires area, be sure to keep your eye on those pages for information on how to attend what is sure to be a fun and innovative night of pro wrestling. For international fans that are interested in catching the action, be sure to subscribe to the Legion Nueva Era YouTube page as the event should make its way there soon after the tournament’s completion.
