‘’History will repeat itself’’ – Power Lee of Nigeria
‘’I am more prepared than ever this time’’ – Le Matraqueur of Cameroon
True to his boast, Nigeria’s national heavyweight wrestling champion and titleholder, Ikpide Godspower, known as ‘Power Lee,’ won the first ‘Battle of Yaoundé,’ beating homeboy Michel Noudem. It was an epic fight for the Pro Wrestling Africa (PWA) heavyweight title and it took place in front of Noudem’s supporters at the Palais De Sports, Yaounde, Cameroon on Saturday September 19, 2015 which is over 5 years ago now.

That same title will be at stake and be defended during PWA’s ‘’Battle of Yaoundé Series II’’ when Nigerian Power Lee will compete again with Le Matraqueur of Cameroon at the same Palais Des Sports venue on Friday 30th April, 2021.
Power Lee succeeded Super Makia, the former African Heavyweight Champion and title holder as African Professional wrestling champion by beating Michel Noudem AKA Le Matraqueur, who has vowed not to let go of this opportunity for the title now, while Power Lee says history will indeed repeat itself and he will be victorious. ‘’ I have done it before and will do it again. I have successfully defended the same title against Buffalo of Angola at Asaba, Delta State and USA Bing of Congo DRC, another French man, in Lagos, so bringing the belt back to Nigeria will not be a big deal for me’’ Lee explained.
Le Matraqueur, the PWA Heavyweight Title contender
According to Le Matraqueur, ‘’the African title belt which Super Makia conserved for 28 years eluded Cameroon in the year 2015 and this time, it is coming back home and coming back for good. I had the upper hand in the fight with Power Lee then and his victory came as a surprise to me when he succeeded in pinning me for the three count. Luck will be on my side this time’’ he concluded.
The president of the Cameroon Pro Wrestling Federation (FECACATCH), Captain Emmanuel Ndo, who is also the PWA’s first vice President, is leaving no stone unturned to see to a befitting championship in Yaounde, Cameroon. And this is well appreciated as he has consulted many sponsors and is also discussing with the sports ministry in Cameroon about the event all in an effort to have a great championship.

The secretary General of the continental body, Olusesan Olukoya, felt the event should have been held before now if not for the COVID 19 pandemic that took us by surprise. He gives kudos to the entire management of FECACATCH in Cameroon for seeing to a great and timely event while the PWA President from Botswana Dr. Moagi Sharp sent message that the management of PWA are proud of Cameroon as a federation for spear heading this championship and seeing to its coming to light.
Apart from the main event for the night which is the Power Lee and Le Matraqueur fight, Wolf will slug it out with Buffalo in a showcase fight for the PWA Middleweight Title while other wrestlers billed for the championship are Kirikou, L’animal, Black Tiger, Tigre and Chrispine.
We will indeed keep the fans posted as events unfold as the event has been gathering momentum in Cameroon, which is known as “Africa in miniature” because of its geographical and cultural diversity. The Central African country has one of the highest literacy rates on the continent and that is good for the French speaking nation of Cameroon.
