*WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIP EVENT SET TO TAKE PLACE JULY 24TH TO CELEBRATE ASAGBA OF ASABA’S 97TH BIRTHDAY*

Before defending his title, Mighty Man’s only request is to attend the palace and receive royal blessings from the king of the place he hails from, HRM Obuenwe Johnson Ekpechi Ulu, The Eze-Emu of Emu Kingdom in Ndokwa West Local Government Area. Mighty Man also wishes for the monarch to attend the Asagba championship and to be at ring side when he is competing and defending his national title in an effort to secure a win.

‘’After I might have received the royal blessings from his Royal Majesty, and the king also finds time to attend the Asagba International Pro Wrestling Championship in Asaba, I have no choice than to defend my title and win. All I desire is a win. Nothing more than to win. I have been training hard and nobody can stop me. I know I have friends among enemies and enemies among friends in the Nigerian wrestling world but not withstanding. I am equal to the task,’’ boasted De Mighty Man.

Plans are also on for Mighty Man to pay homage to Hon. Chief Obi Nzete, the Executive Chairman of the Ndokwa West Local Government Area, Delta State, for another fatherly blessing before the title defense this month. He believes in the prayers and support of his community people very much and their blessings should definitely help motivate him.

The Great Mosendo has challenged Mighty Man to a rematch of their heavyweight championship title match, stating that he was not fully ready for their first encounter during the Abuja match in June, but he is now ready and prepared for him. Mighty Man feels that Mosendo has been defeated already for the federation’s heavyweight title and the mission has already been accomplished by defeating him and instead, he needs fresh opponents to deal with again and again.

Mighty Man, the national heavyweight champion and title holder, who started his pro wrestling career in 1998, received training from Elephando Bassey, the grand wizard of African pro wrestling, who also reigned in the late 70s and 80s as the Nigerian national middleweight champion and titleholder. Mighty Man had Hot Tempo as his first opponent and lists Michael Kovak of Austria in Europe as his toughest opponent to date. He has a long list of wrestlers he has defeated over the years and he reigned supreme after defeating Powerful Mike Okoko on the 20th of March, 2021 during the Mock Pro Wrestling Championship which, according to him, was just a warm up match.
