South Carolina indie plans wrestling legacies show featuring second generation wrestlers for July 11th

Next Sunday in Hanahan, South Carolina, Old School Championship Wrestling is planning to hold their second installment of a concept show that features (at least) second generation wrestlers that are carrying on the family legacy. Featured at the event will be Lance Anoa’i and Jacob Fatu, who are both part of the famous Anoa’i Samoan wrestling dynasty whose members include Peter Maivia, Afa and Sika the Wild Samoans, Yokozuna, The Rock, Roman Reigns, Rikishi and many more. Davey Boy Smith Jr., the son of the British Bulldog Davey Boy Smith, will also be in action as will Colby Corino (son of Steve Corino), Wes Brisco (son of Gerald Brisco), Timothy Zbyszko (son of Larry Zbyszko) and Miranda Gordy (daughter of Terry Gordy).

This type of event, where the focus is on showcasing wrestlers continuing their family’s legacy, will surely be of interest to long term wrestling fans. Being able to experience so many of these second (and second +) generation stars should definitely jog some memories of the fans in attendance who can recall watching the families being represented’s earlier generations. In a way, this type of show is touching on nostalgia in pro wrestling (which always does well) and honoring tradition without using older stars. Perhaps it’s not a coincidence that a promotion with the words “old school” in their name would organize such an event.

Some other names that wrestling fans may recognize that will be appearing on Sunday the 11th for OSCW include Kaleb Konley, Facade and former AIWF World Champion Kevin Phoenix. Tickets are available on the company’s website for a discounted rate and will also be available at the door on the day of the event.
