The event, which is being held to celebrate the 97th birthday of Nigerian king, the Asagba of Asaba HRM Prof. Joseph Chike Edozien, had to be called off due to insurmountable logistic issues. Sources from inside the NPWF have shared that the tentative plan, as of now, is to hold the event on August 29th in Asaba. It is unclear at this time if the plan to invite all of the international talent that was scheduled to be involved in this weekend’s event will be the plan moving forward. However, the idea was to invite Africa’s best wrestling talent and provide a top notch event that would help honor the Asagba, so odds are that will still be the case at the end of August.

We will keep our readers updated when more details become available.
