Atsushi Onita’s FMWE promotion announces women’s exploding ring tournament

With the success of their July 4th debut now in the rear view mirror, Atsushi Onita’s new FMW promotion that’s built around exploding ring matches is looking to the future. One of the next things on the agenda for the upstart ultraviolent company is a women’s exploding ring tournament, being dubbed the Explosion Princess Tournament. FMWE reports that the tournament will consist of eight competitors with the first round of matches taking place on September 12th and October 24th. The semifinals will take place in November and the finals are tentatively scheduled for December.

FMWE has released the name of the 8 competitors that are set to compete in the extremely dangerous tournament today via their Instagram and Twitter page.

Set to compete in the Explosion Princess Tournament are Austrian wrestler Thekla (who is the current Ice Ribbon Triangle Ribbon Champion), the young Madeline (who was trained in part by Emi Sakura), veteran Japanese wrestler Miss Mongol, recent PURE-J Openweight Champion Rydeen Hagane, Ice Ribbon veteran and experienced deathmatch wrestler Risa Sera, the young An Chamu, Ice Ribbon regular Akane Fujita and the 18 year old phenom Suzu Suzuki.

For fans of the Japanese deathmatch style and Joshi pro wrestling, this should be a good one! Keep your eyes on the FMWE Twitter and Instagram pages for upcoming details on how to purchase tickets (they go on sale tomorrow!) if you plan to attend or for more information on how to catch the event via streaming service!
