Things get hardcore in South India for the first time
The firsts keep rolling in from South India, in particular from the South Indian state of Kerala. Prior to 2020, there was no semblance of pro wrestling in the area. Now as we’re halfway through 2021, pro wrestling in Kerala continues to hit milestone after milestone.
The newest milestone comes from Kerala Championship Wrestling, who have shared what they’re calling South India’s first hardcore pro wrestling match to their YouTube channel. The match is a wild but entertaining affair. It’s not a 1 on 1 hardcore match but rather a triple threat tag team bout that finds all six competitors in the ring for much of the match.
The match video comes from KCW’s second live show that took place in April 2021. It is full of some intense brawling, some cool high flying in particular from wrestler AB Hardy and of course, the main attraction, weapons. While a ladder, a trash can lid and a cane all get involved in the match, the match itself isn’t overly built around hardcore violence. Instead, it’s the chaotic presence of six competitors in the ring, constant offense and an overall lack of rules that is the star of the show.
All in all, the match is very entertaining. The ability of the KCW crew to put on such a chaotic match as a brand new company, much less at only their second live show, speaks volumes to the dedication and passion that this group has for pro wrestling. It will be a lot of fun to watch the KCW wrestlers continue to grow and improve and the same can be said about the pro wrestling scene in Kerala as a whole.
