South Carolina indie crowns new heavyweight champion

Orangeburg, South Carolina wrestling fans were able to celebrate an exciting heavyweight title change on Saturday, July 24th! At Alternative Wrestling Showcase’s “Total Anarchy,” Fuego Calderon was able to defeat former champion Antonio Morgan to become the brand new AWS Heavyweight Champion!

Reports from the venue indicate that Calderon’s win wasn’t a clean one and instead came as a result of “shenanigans” that the former champion Antonio Morgan was unable to overcome. Either way, the changing of hands of a wrestling promotion’s top title is always big news and a special occasion for the fan’s in attendance.

AWS is set to return to the ring on August 14th for their next event which is titled Carnage. No word yet on if the new champion will be forced to defend his title immediately. Stay tuned to the AWS social media pages for updates!
