Taiwan’s first female wrestler makes debut, scheduled for action again this weekend

The pro wrestling scene in Taiwan is still relatively young. The island nation currently features four wrestling promotions, with three of the four promotions being based in Taipei City. But with a new pro wrestling scene comes some exciting firsts.

One of those exciting firsts took place on February 12th of this year when Taiwan’s first female pro wrestler, Princess Pistachio, made her debut.

To get to the bottom of who the masked Princess Pistachio is, WrestleMap recently had an opportunity to talk with the rookie wrestler. She describes herself as a “dreamaholic” or one who is addicted to dreaming. Princess Pistschio shares that all of her matches are dreams to her, that Princess Pistachio only comes out when the “daytime” body of the person that inhabits the princess is sleeping. Princess Pistachio is in a living dream every time she’s in the ring.

Princess Pistachio debuted for New Taiwan Wrestling at an event held at a music festival in Taiwan on February 12th, 2022. In that match, she took on A-YONG-GO in a losing effort. On the second day of the festival, February 13th, she was in action again, this time capturing her first career win against SKY. Princess Pistachio would then make her debut in the NTW Dojo two weeks later on February 26th in a match that saw her take on KJ Wu in another losing effort after falling victim to Wu’s gourdbuster.

Princess Pistachio lands a leg drop on KJ Wu during her first match at the NTW Dojo on February 26, 2022.

Princess Pistachio is a product of the New Taiwan Wrestling dojo. Despite her rough start with a 1-2 record, she has continued to train with the NTW school and is now gearing up for her fourth professional match which is set to take place this coming Saturday, March 26th.

Princess Pistachio’s fourth bout will also come while the new star is competing for New Taiwan Wrestling. Her opponent in her third match will be The Joker. Things are beginning to heat up between the two competitors heading into the match, as The Joker recently shared a chilling video to social media that shows him telling a bedtime story to the princess in Chinese about a princess who meets The Joker in a forest, sending a clear message on what he plans to do to her in the match. We were able to catch up with Princess Pistsachio for an exclusive response to The Joker’s latest tactics. Here’s what the Princess had to say:

“I am practicing a trick these nights.

I want to transfer stuff to help me out during matches, only winning turns nightmares into sweet dreams.

I lost because i was not strong enough last month, so i need something to enhance my power.

Meanwhile, only ‘Mr. Bunny,’ the stuffed bunny that i always carry with me, can travel through this ‘tunnel’ that exists between daytime and nighttime.

So...i might need some ideas from people for things that I could use to help me fight ‘the clown.’”

The title of this Saturday’s NTW event translates to Battle in New Taiwan and the show will be held at the NTW Dojo in Taoyuan. Besides Princess Pistachio being in action, NTW will sanction four additional matches that have been announced so far including a triple threat match. Included in those matches will be two tournament bouts that are part of a tournament to crown the NTW champion. Set for the tournament matches will be SKY taking on z / o and KJ Wu will also be in tournament action.
