New champion of Kinshasa crowned in championship final

A new champion of Kinshasa, the capital city of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, has been crowned. Just like the DRC’s neighbor, Republic of the Congo (Congo-Brazzaville), there are two divisions of pro wrestling within the country: classic style and Congolese style. Congolese style is perhaps better known to some of our readers as “voodoo wrestling” while classic style is the more traditional style of pro wrestling.

A new champion in the Classic Style division was crowned over the weekend of October 14-15, 2022 following a championship final in Kinshasa between Goldberg (DRC) and Animal Lion. After some early domination from Goldberg, Animal Lion was able to bounce back and defeat Goldberg. With the win, Animal Lion became the new Champion of Kinshasa, the DRC’s biggest city, in Classic Style.
