The Arnold Sports Festival Europe is coming to Seville, Spain this Saturday, September 18th, and pro wrestling will be represented at the multi-sport event in a big way. The Spanish pro wrestling community is coming together to organize a massive sixty-four wrestler tournament at the event to crown the winner of the 2021 Torneo Del Poder (which translates to Tournamet of Power). The sixty-four competitor tournament will feature wrestlers from nearly every pro wrestling company that is based in Spain with a majority of the wrestlers hailing from the country as well.

The massive tournament is set to take place on the second day of the festival, with one survivor outlasting sixty-three other wrestlers on their way to the championship trophy. Among the promotions that will be sending wrestlers to compete in the Torneo Del Poder are Sevilla Wrestling, Ichiban Wrestling, Pro Wrestling Euskadi, North Coast Wrestling, Tyris Wrestling, South Championship Wrestling, New European Wrestling, Underground Pro Wrestling and Resist Pro Wrestling. The competitors that have been announced for the tournament so far include: Angel Rose, Astiles (Sevilla), Elvis Harrison (NEW), Theo Marttovi (Ichiban), Issi (Resist), Elias, Albert Ambou (Tyris), Agis V (South Championship Wrestling), Ruky (NEW), Keibel, Tommy Blizzard (NCW), Kaiden, Breaker (Sevilla), Ivan Roy (NEW), Murciano (Resist), Thrashman (NEW), Pedrolo (Resist), Pelayo, Insane La Ira (Sevilla), Carmen Cortes (Sevilla), Curro Godoy (South Championship Wrestling), Jack Lafita (Euskadi), Payne, Tyler Jackson (NCW), Yakob Business (Sevilla), Gin West (Resist), Gore K (Euskadi), Jonnhy The Wolf (South Championship Wrestling), Padre Paolo, Delta Rex (Resist), Javier Hunter (Tyris), Malaquias (Sevilla), Hanah (Resist), Jostein (Sevilla), Rober El Pitbull (Underground), Vili Balance (Tyris), Alec Baher (Underground), Adam Fowler (Ichiban), Cosmos (Resist), Payaso Sullivan (Resist), Eddie Rodriguez (Underground), Toni Tornado (Pro Wrestling Euskadi), Rob Roy (NEW), Tony Aeri (Resist), Jay Ortiz, Lucky (Sevilla), Tigre Blanco (South Championship Wrestling), Salamander (Sevilla), Max Danger (Sevilla), Falbak (Pro Wrestling Euskadi), Mask Panther, Rocket, Donovan (Sevilla), Solo Pol, Silver Cage (Sevilla), Parri (Sevilla), Joe Gold (Sevilla), Crovetto (Ichiban), Simon Santillana (Sevilla), DM Metal (Sevilla), Gerard (Tyris), Capo (Sevilla), and Daniel Drake (Sevilla). No official bracket has been released as of press time.

Taking a closer look at some of the competitors, Sevilla‘s Capo and Joe Gold stand out as potential favorites to win the tournament as they were both recently top contenders for the SEW Spanish Absolute Title and the SEW Andalucia Title, respectively. Elvis Harrison is one to keep an eye on as well as the current and three time Level One champion of Spain’s White Wolf Wrestling. A second title holder from La Triple W, Ruky (who is the current holder of the Triple W Extreme Championship), is another name to watch. Outside of those names, it’s a wide open field. Perhaps one of Sevilla’s own will feed off the energy of the hometown crowd and break through to capture the trophy.

On the third day of the festival, a tag team tournament is set to take place featuring 8 tag teams from all of the aforementioned promotions. The tag team tournament has been titled the Torneo del Puño de Acero, which translates to the Steel Fist Tournament. The third day is also set to feature a 30 wrestler battle royal with the winner being crowned as el Rey De Arnold (or King of the Arnold)!

This weekend’s activities at the Arnold surely will leave a big mark on the Spanish pro wrestling scene. While Sevilla Wrestling’s champions are not participating in the 64 competitor Tournament of Power, the wrestler that wins does have a legitimate argument that they could be considered the best pro wrestler in Spain. The same can be said of the tag team that comes out on top on day three of the festival. At the very least, the wrestler that leaves the Arnold with the Tournament of Power trophy definitely has an argument that they deserve a shot at one of Sevilla’s top titles. The winner of the 30 wrestler battle royal most likely deserves the same.
