Turkish Wrestling Alliance to bring live pro wrestling back to Istanbul this Sunday

The burgeoning DIY indie wrestling scene in Turkey has been quiet of late. That’s all about to change this coming Sunday as the Turkish Wrestling Alliance will bring a live wrestling event to Istanbul for the first time since August of 2021.

The TWA will hold their event Rumble In The Jungle at Ashgabat Fight Club with free admission for interested fans.

So far, three matches have been announced for the show. In singles competition, El Pistolero and The Slayer will face off. Emir and Hakan Kesici will also square up in a singles bout. However, the night’s main event is what gives the show its namesake.

That main event will be a battle royal/royal rumble style match for the TWA title. But this battle royal is a little different than your average battle royal with the belt on the line. The current TWA champion, Taner, will be in the match! That means, if the champion is eliminated from the match at any point, he will lose his title. So far announced for the battle royal match are Nurbek Nogoyev, The Slayer, Hakan Kesici, Dila Öcek, El Pistolero, Laleli Pimp, Kenan Demir, Emir, Tayfun Turunc, Kenny Kumshot, The Price and the aforementioned champion Taner. The match graphic provided by TWA implies that there will also be unannounced surprise participants in the match which is always an aspect that can raise the excitement level in a battle royal.

Will Taner be able to outlast the rest of the field and retain his title belt in one of the more difficult tests imaginable? There’s no doubt the champion will have an enormous target on his back in this match and leaving the Rumble in the Jungle with the belt will be close to impossible.

The show will eventually make its way to the TWA YouTube page, and we’ll share it once it does. Meanwhile, the fans that are able to attend might be in presence when a new champion of TWA is crowned! Stay tuned for more.
