Multinational event planned for Saturday December 4 in Nepal

Pro wrestlers from Nepal, Pakistan, India and the United States are set to converge on Kathmandu, Nepal on December 4, 2021 for a major pro wrestling event with some big implications for the South Asian wrestling scene.

The event, which has been tagged International Wrestling Championship, is being put on by the Nepal Women’s Wrestling Foundation and will be held outdoors in Kathmandu at Bhirkutimandap with things getting kicked off at 12 PM Kathmandu time.

Of the matches scheduled and wrestlers confirmed for the event, perhaps the match with the highest stakes is the double title, winner take all, no disqualification India vs. Pakistan match that will see Revolution Eastern Wrestling Eastern Champion Jordan Hurr from Pakistan go one on one with REW World Heavyweight Champion Gopal Sharma from India. This is a match that we previously outlined ahead of this event when Jordan Hurr was announced to have officially joined REW around the launch of the company’s new television program Venus War. Jordan has had recent success in a no-holds barred match, coming out on top in a recent episode of Venus War that saw him become the inaugural REW Eastern Champion. Gopal Sharma, on the other hand, saw success on his last trip to Nepal to defend the REW Heavyweight Championship when he defeated Dev The Bull back in April of this year.

Along with Jordan Hurr, REW wrestler The Kovu Brandon will also be making the trip from Pakistan to compete in Nepal. For those of you that have been following our series on REW’s new television program, Venus War, this next paragraph is going to contain a spoiler for a future episode. If you’d like to avoid those spoilers, skip ahead to the next section.

The Kovu Brandon is set to defend his REW Ring of Slam World Heavyweight Championship against Nepali Bro in a deathmatch on the card. Kovu won the ROS World Heavyweight Title from Ahmed Boyka back at the Venus War tapings in a match that will be seen in a future episode of REW Venus War that has yet to air on Venus HD TV in Pakistan. In the time since the tapings, The Kovu Brandon was hospitalized briefly following an accident. With his body already in some pain, will The Kovu be able to withstand the intense punishment that a deathmatch guarantees in order to hang on to his title belt? Or can Nepali Bro take advantage of this opportunity to become the new REW Ring of Slam World Heavyweight Champion? Unfortunately, we have yet to see Nepali Bro in action so we don’t know much about his in ring style or past success. However, footage of a confrontation by Nepali Bro and Kovu Brandon was recently captured on film in Nepal and can be seen below. Needless to say, Nepali Bro looks confident heading in to this potentially dangerous match.

Speaking of REW’s Venus War series, here is the fourth and most recent episode.

Elsewhere, in women’s action, “Luminous” JC Storm is making the trip to Nepal from the United States to be the lone representative of the USA on the multinational card. JC is currently a regular on the independent scene in the Northeast United States. She appears to have trained with House of Glory Wrestling in New York City and recently became the first ever Atlantic Allstar Wrestling Women’s Champion in Morrisville, Pennsylvania.

JC will be taking on Nepali women’s wrestler Asmita Jureli. Asmita is one of the more popular figures in the Nepali women’s wrestling scene, owning Instagram and Facebook accounts that both have over 5,000 followers. She has had success in Nepal in the past and with being the hometown hero, may hold the upper hand on JC Storm for that reason, coupled with JC’s long travel time to Nepal and the possibility of jet lag kicking in. Either way, this match should be a treat for the fans on hand.

Outside of these three matches, other competitors have been advertised as being in action at this big, multinational event. One of those competitors is Bhagawati Khadka Unika. Unika is the founder and president of the Nepal Women’s Wrestling Foundation and is also credited as being the first Nepali women’s pro wrestler. Also being advertised for the event is Thagu, a Nepali wrestler that our readers may be familiar with from other pro wrestling events in Nepal that we have covered on WrestleMap.

The pro wrestling industry is going through a very successful period in Nepal right now. Events are almost always very well attended, sometimes with very large crowds in the thousands being on hand. This looks like it will be a great card and the fans should be coming out in droves to witness this one.

We’ll keep you updated here on WrestleMap with the results (and hopefully video) of this one when it all becomes available!
