Recent video releases to check out from 10 different countries

We come across and watch a lot of wrestling content from around the world here on WrestleMap. Unfortunately, we don’t always have time to do full write ups of everything that we watch or come across but we still wanted to come up with a way to share some of this content here on the site. So here are a few recent match and event videos that we wanted to share that are worth your time.

Pro Wrestling Federation of Pakistan

There’s been a lot of pro wrestling content coming out of Pakistan of late and PWFP is right in the mix with their new season of YouTube content that they call Taking Over. PWFP features stars such as their long-time champion RJ Faddy, AA Junior, Raja Naveed, Prince Ahmed and more. Overall, some entertaining wrestling and entertaining segments that will help you get an even better grasp on the Pakistani pro wrestling scene that we pay close attention to here on WrestleMap.

Land of Pride Wrestling-India

Land of Pride Wrestling is a new company based in Uttrakhand, India that we profiled ahead of their debut event, Outrage, back in early November. Outrage is set to be a regular weekly event in Haldwani, Uttrakhand and some video from the debut event has just recently hit the new company’s YouTube page. The very first match the company has uploaded is between Abhiraj The Combat King and Vijay and it’s a good one that gives good insight to the promise of the young pro wrestling scene in India and the heights that scene can potentially achieve in the future.

Evolution Wrestling Force-Brazil

Brazil’s EWF recently got a boost in spotlight when one of their recent events was streamed live on “Speedball” Mike Bailey’s Twitch page. That was an event that we previewed here on WrestleMap as well. EWF has recently released a highlights video from that event which was titled Just Fight. Lots of high flying, high impact, fast paced modern indie wrestling in this one. The action in the ring will definitely not disappoint. If you enjoy the highlights video, be sure to check out the full event which is also available for free on YouTube.

SETUP Wrestling-Thailand

Another event that we previewed here on WrestleMap. SETUP’s return after a long COVID-restriction-induced layoff featured a one night tournament for the AWGC Junior Heavyweight Championship, a title belt that was originated in Hong Kong with the Hong Kong Wrestling Federation. That tournament was won by Johnathon Johnson. The event also features performances by idol music groups and even one of the idol singers winning a SETUP title belt. Lots of entertainment in this one for sure.

Middle Kingdom Wrestling-China

MKW’s Blast-off program has become the most popular regular Chinese pro wrestling program over the last year or so. Their live episode to close out their last season became the most watched Chinese pro wrestling program since 2019. The new episode of Blast-off actually debuted yesterday. The show features a singles match between Uncle Money and Saga, a look back to MKW’s joint show with new Chinese promotion IBEW from earlier this year with former MKW World Champion Zombie Dragon defending his title and a triple threat match for the MKW Belt and Road Championship between Han Wan, Black Mamba and current champion Ash Silva.

BRW Lucha Libre-Dominican Republic

We have received some questions in the past inquiring on the current state of pro wrestling in the Dominican Republic. Dating back to the territory days, the Dominican market was a hot one for a period of time. Admittedly, we don’t know too much about BRW at this point. We’re still in the learning phase. But from what we’ve been able to gather so far, the company features a crop of young wrestlers, including the only active pro wrestler that we’re aware of that hails from Haiti. While the video quality isn’t the highest, the action in the match is good and it helps to give a glimpse into the new generation of pro wrestlers in the Dominican. The match below features Gran Bushido taking on Tormento Negro from the company’s Halloween show.

ZMAK-Greece

We profiled Greece’s ZMAK back in August and since then the Southern European company has become a cult favorite among WrestleMap readers. ZMAK’s company policy is to make all of their matches available on their YouTube channel and this recent release comes from their most recent live event, Big Deal. Michel Angelo came into this 3-Deal match as both the ZMAK Champion and the ZMAK International Champion. This 4-way ladder match had both of Michelangelo’s championship belts on the line in an interesting stipulation. Three briefcases hung from the ceiling. Two representing each of Michel Angelo’s titles and the other briefcase would eliminate the competitor that retrieved it from the match. There are some very suspenseful and unique spots in this one including competitors hanging from the arena balcony. Michel Angelo has the potential to be a big star in the pro wrestling world and is often very impressive in the ring and this unique match is no different.

All Wrestling Organization-Israel

We haven’t checked in on Israel’s AWO and their weekly Adrenaline Monday Night show in a little bit. AWO produces the only weekly wrestling show in Israel. Their product is a unique mix of sports entertainment, comedy and solid in ring performance and features a number of unique masked characters. Adrenaline Monday Night is unliked any other pro wrestling show and a watch through is one that you likely will not soon forget.

Sevilla Wrestling-Spain

Sevilla Wrestling has been having a very newsworthy year. First they spearheaded the Torneo Del Poder at the Arnold Sports Festival in Sevilla, a huge singles tournament that featured 64 wrestlers from several different promotions from all over Spain. Next, they took place in the first ever pro wrestling show in Gibraltar alongside London, England’s LDN Wrestling. The highlights below come from Reinicio, a joint event with Ichiban Wrestling back on October 22nd. The highlights from the first match made us instant fans of Astiles and the Team Ichiban vs. Team Sevilla match had a fun swerve and a hard hitting hardcore match closes things out. Good stuff coming from the folks in Seville.

Catch Fetiche legends Elephant and Six Bolite do battle-Democratic Republic of the Congo

Two legends of the catch fetiche style meet in this highly anticipated, high energy voodoo wrestling bout. Both of these masked veterans are big heavyweights but also proficient in the art of catch fetiche which involves using mysticism and magical practices to harm their opponents in the ring. Six Bolite is the high energy wrestler in the American inspired attire. Just a warning before watching this one though. There is use of a live bird by both wrestlers as a source of magic for their catch fetiche attacks. Unfortunately, the bird doesn’t survive through the entirety of the match. This one may not be for animal lovers but we feel it’s still important to share this authentic catch fetiche match due to the cultural differences on display in this match compared to a pro wrestling match in the Western world. The ending to this one is a little confusing though but it appears as if the referee calls the match a draw after neither wrestler was able to respond. One last important note, be sure to watch this one with the sound on. That’s a piece of advice I give for all Congolese wrestling matches. The atmosphere is unique, the crowd cheers are always fun and the brass band playing throughout the match is a unique experience you won’t get anywhere else in pro wrestling.

Bonus: Wrestle Square-India

This women’s match from India’s top independent wrestling promotion is a fun little segment that gives us good insight to the growing women’s wrestling scene in India. Mona, currently one half of the Wrestle Square tag team champions, takes on Rimee, a newcomer to the scene. Mona is one of the top women’s stars in India right now and has big career goals, even joking in her Instagram profile that she’s a future WWE NXT India superstar. Mona is a skilled grappler and the idea of her seeing international success is not far fetched at all. Rimee, on the other land, looks good in one of her early appearances for Wrestle Square and appears to use her power and strength well in the ring. A female referee oversees this one, eventually turning on both wrestlers and most likely starting a feud between these three as this match ends in a draw due to some sketchy officiating. It’s good to see fans in the Wrestle Square facility for the first time in a little bit as well after their presence has been limited throughout the pandemic.
