REW Pakistan World Championship Successfully Defended in Nepal
Pakistan’s Revolution Eastern Wrestling was able to complete an important milestone in their quest for Asian expansion on Saturday. REW World Champion Gopal Sharma defeated his challenger Dev The Bull to defend his championship on foreign soil. In professional wrestling, a world championship can officially be called a “world championship” when the title is put on the line in a title defense in a country that is not the promotion’s home country. World championships are seen to have more prestige when they actually qualify as a true world championship. Congratulations to Revolution Eastern Wrestling on this title defense in Nepal.

Saturday’s REW event happened in conjunction with the Nepal Women Wrestling Foundation. After original plans were forced to be readjusted due to Covid-19 restrictions, the venue that the event was to be held in had to be changed. Saturday’s event was instead held at the Nepal Women Wrestling Foundation in Shantinagar, Kathmandu, Nepal. After facing so many obstacles leading up to the event, the success of Saturday’s event is a testament to the passion for pro wrestling that everyone at REW and the NWWF share. This kind of cooperation and passion is what it takes to help build a strong wrestling scene and the scene in South Asia is growing stronger by the day!
