A banner hangs from the Palais des Sports in Yaoundé as a reminder to the city of the big event that will be storming the city soon. News coverage of the event has been consistent throughout all of Cameroon with the press sharing details of this monumental event with the citizens of the country. The wrestlers are ramping up their training in preparation for the battle they are about to do.

Reigning Pro Wrestling Africa Heavyweight Champion Power Lee recently spoke up on social media about the daunting challenge of defending his championship against Michel Noudem on Noudem’s home turf. “Facing the reality, no retreat no surrender,” Power Lee said confidently while sharing a video that points out how hard this test in Cameroon will be. However, when you are able to reign as champion for six years as Power Lee has, you’ve obviously been doing something right. Perhaps no athlete is facing more pressure going in to the April 30th event than Power Lee.

The Wolf NDA also has a big test on his hands in the form of the powerful and marvelous Buffalo. The last time these two met, wrestling fans were treated to an all out brawl that saw the two competitors go through tables and fight outside of the ring and all across the arena floor. Buffalo walked away the victor in the last meeting between the two but this time, The Wolf steps into the ring as the reigning PWA Middleweight Champion. The Wolf recently took to social media and promised that the many in attendance at the Palais des Sports will witness him inflict pain on his opponent. There’s no doubt both Buffalo and Wolf will be in pain after seeing the punishment they inflicted on each other during their last meeting. The only thing still in doubt is who will emerge victorious this time as the PWA Middleweight Champion.

WrestleMap was able to catch up with our Chief Correspondent in Africa, and the Secretary General of Pro Wrestling Africa, Olukoya Olusesan for some updates on the April 30th show. Despite his extremely busy schedule right now, Olukoya was gracious enough to give us a moment of his time and issued the following statement:

This will allow them to attend the Pro Wrestling Africa Annual General Meeting that will be taking place in Yaoundé prior to show on the 30th. The extra days in Yaoundé will also allow Power Lee and Olukoya to visit major media houses in Yaoundé as well as with the Sports Minister of Cameroon, the Ambassador of the Nigerian High Commission in Cameroon, and some other dignitaries in the area. All of the activities and accommodations for visiting wrestlers and staff members as well as the events of the entire weekend have been painstakingly and masterfully organized by Captain Emmanuel Ndo, the President of FECACATH and Vice President of the PWA. Olukoya also wanted to emphasize that the opportunity for travelers from outside of Cameroon to travel in grand style to see the cultural heritage of Cameroon was available.

As the time ticks closer to the big night in Yaoundé, be sure to keep it locked to WrestleMap for all of the latest updates!
