Lagos in Nigeria governor receives pro wrestling award of recognition from national federation

The Nigerian Pro Wrestling Federation executive team led by President John Uche has presented a national prestigious merit award to his Excellency, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, the Executive Governor of Lagos state on Tuesday 21st December, 2021.

The Executive Chairman of the Lagos State Sports Commission, Hon. Sola Aiyepeku and the Director General of the Lagos State Sports Commission, Hon. Oluwatoyin Gafaar Bolowotan, were readily available to represent the governor who was not available to receive the award in person on behalf of the governor at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos

The chairman introduced the wrestling executive members to the Director General of the commission though we know him and have met him severally in the past.

In the speech President Uche read, he emphasized that: ‘’After an assessment of achievement made by all the Governors across the 36 states of the Federation of Nigeria by our team of technocrats who went round the federation for on the spot assessment of the Governors, we are glad to inform you that His Excellency Mr. Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu is a pacesetter and a leadership ICON among his peers with outstanding records such as: A God fearing Christian who places great value on human lives and human relationships, he allows access to even the distant associate. He values goodwill and loyalty in his relationship. Governor Sanwo-Olu is meticulous, intelligent and a passionate workaholic leader who runs an inclusive Government.’’

‘’Governor Sanwo-Olu has brought a new leadership model that has delivered qualitative direction, exhibiting and practicing transparency and accountability as deliberate policies. The tireless man had serious issues to contend with at the onset of his administration. Rather than being deterred, he rose to the occasion of the Covid-19 Pandemic to provide exemplary leadership, not only to his Lagos constituency but also to the nation at large’’ he concluded.

The chairman of the sports commission thanked Chief John Uche, President of the federation and his present team members who are Pastor Elephando Bassey, the Secretary of the federation; Olusesan Olukoya, Director of Publicity; Hon. Kanu Dominic Nguru, Chairman, NPWF fund raising committee and the Hon. Lawrence Ezeunara Member, NPWF Championship Planning committee.
