Nordic Elite Wrestling sells out debut show as Danish wrestling scene continues to heat up

Nordic Elite Wrestling made their debut from the Basement in Copenhagen this past Friday to a sold out crowd.

The debut event featured quarterfinal matches in a tournament to decide the new company’s first champion. In the tournament bouts, Carlos Zamora defeated Pete Phoenix, Dan Evans beat Benny Bacchus, L’unico outlasted Seb Silvers and Eli Castle downed Ender Kara with all four winners advancing to the semifinals. Those semifinal matches are set to take place on April 2nd when NEW will return to the basement in Copenhagen for Thirst For Gold. At Thirst For Gold, Carlos Zamora will take on L’unico and Dan Evans and Eli Castle will do battle with an opportunity to advance to the tournament final on the line. Then, in the night’s main event, the two winners will duke it out for the chance to become the inaugural NEW Champion! Be sure to get your tickets early for that one as odds are, that show will likely sell out too.

Outside of the tournament, a tag team match that saw Aliss Ink team up with Saim Ashfaq to take on the team of Lobo and Robert Star was also part of the card. Unfortunately, we have not been able to track down the result of that match.

A second non-tournament match took place at the event when Gabriel Faust issued an open challenge after being furious that he was left out of the bracket to crown a new champion. The challenge was answered by Hunyadi Tamás, leading to a bloody battle between the two.

The debut of NEW comes at a big moment for the Danish pro wrestling scene. Both Bodyslam! Pro Wrestling and Copenhagen Championship Wrestling have big events coming up that will feature international touring wrestlers. Being a wrestling fan in Denmark right now has got to be pretty exciting with all of this action coming to the local scene.

We’ll keep you updated on any future details released about NEW’s debut show and we’ll also be checking in on the Bodyslam! and CCW events soon as well!
