The world’s southernmost wrestling promotion, Krenn Lucha Libre, will be in action this weekend
In the past, we’ve covered the world’s farthest north pro wrestling promotion, Totally Arctic Wrestling, who are based in Inuvik, Northwest Territories, Canada. Now, we’d like to introduce you to the world’s furthest south pro wrestling promotion, Krenn Lucha Libre. Krenn Lucha Libre is based out of Punta Arenas, Chile, located basically at the bottom tip of South America. Punta Arenas is also home to another wrestling promotion, Magallanes Lucha Libre, so the two promotions share the distinction of being the world’s southernmost pro wrestling promotion. An interesting fact about the city of Punta Arenas is that it’s located in a Chilean administrative division called Magallanes and Chilean Antarctica Region with Chile’s territory in Antarctica being part of the region. For wrestlers that dream of wrestling on all seven continents, wrestling for either Krenn or Magallanes Lucha Libre may be the closest they’ll get to being able to say that they wrestled in Antarctica since Antarctica is technically in the name of the region they would be performing in.
While Magallanes Lucha Libre hasn’t been able to do very much since the beginning of the pandemic, Krenn Lucha Libre has continued to plug away and is ready to hold their first event of 2022. KLL will be in action this coming Sunday, April 17th, for an event called Karu Kinka that will also be streamed for free on the KLL YouTube channel.
Krenn has announced much of the card for the upcoming Karu Kinka. Four matches have been announced so far. Those matches include:
Aaron Grodd and Bill Jorquera will team up to take on Johny Days and Damian Diamanté in tag team action.
Cristian Mour will take on Hans Kaempfer in a singles match.
Then in the night’s main event, the Maximum Champion of Chile’s MAX Lucha Libre, Agressor, will step in the ring with local crowd favorite, the agile Monky!
This appears to be the last show that KLL will be offering to stream for free on their YouTube channel with future event streams expected to cost a fee. For fans that are based in Punta Arenas, masks are required for the event. The action is set to kick off at 17:00 HRS (5 PM) Punta Arenas time. The Chilean indie wrestling scene is arguably the best and deepest in South America so the action in the ring should definitely be fun to watch. The live stream of the show is embedded below.
