Fans throw chairs toward ring as wild scene unfolds during UWE Nepal Intercontinental Title match
Back on April 2nd, Nepal’s Ultimate Wrestling Entertainment was in action for an event that we previewed here on WrestleMap. UWE will feature hardcore matches from time to time, and seems to have more of an ECW-like edge compared to its other counterparts on the Nepali scene. One match that was on the card featured Nepal’s Thagu taking on Awesh from India in a bout that would decide the first UWE Intercontinental Champion. The match was billed as a hardcore match and the competitors were both left bloody. However, there was one scene in particular from the match that we wanted to share with our readers. This one is a page almost directly out of the ECW book that helps to solidify the parallel that we drew earlier. Many fans of the old ECW will remember the infamous chair throwing incident that took place in a match between Cactus Jack and Terry Funk. Well now, we have seen something similar from the UWE fans who, during the match between Thagu and Awesh, threw chairs toward the ring. You can check out footage of the wild incident below.
Thagu would go on to win the match and in turn would be crowned the first UWE Intercontinental Champion. Congratulations to Thagu on the hard fought victory!
