wXw Germany Crowns New Champions At First Marquee Event of 2021

Germany’s Westside Xtreme Wrestling had an eventful night in Oberhausen on Friday, April 9th. At their first marquee event of 2021, Dead End, multiple titles changed hands.

First, new tag team champions were crowned as The Wrestling Academy (Anil Marek and “Avalanche” Robert Dreissker) defeated The Pretty Bastards (Maggot & Prince Ahura) in the finals of a tournament to crown new wXw Tag Team Champions. Finally, in the night’s main event, Marius Al-Ani overcame Bobby Gunns to become new wXw Unified World Champion. In doing so, Al-Ani ended Gunn’s wXW record long championship reign of 482 days. Prior to Gunn’s reign, the previous longest reign as wXW Unified World Champion was accomplished by Tommy End, who now wrestles in the WWE as Aleister Black.

Germany’s wXW is perhaps the top independent wrestling promotion in all of continental Europe. Friday night’s Dead End event is available for streaming on the wXw Now streaming service.
