WrestlePro Alaska Completes Northern Expansion Tour
In an effort to bring pro wrestling to more people of Alaska, WrestlePro Alaska embarked on their Northern Expansion tour over the last week from April 2nd to April 10th.
WrestlePro, who has branches in New Jersey and now Alaska, brought in some major names to compete on their first tour including Tommy Dreamer, Sami Callihan, Shane Douglas, Matt Cross, Fallah Bahh and Cheeseburger just to name a few. The Alaska branch of WrestlePro, WrestlePro Alaska, is headed up by former Impact Wrestling star “KM” Kevin Matthews.
WrestlePro Alaska states one of their goals as “making pro wrestling in Alaska a thing.” The results of this tour show that it is, indeed, becoming a thing. With stops in Soldotna, Fairbanks and Palmer, WresltePro Alaska succeeded in bringing big pro wrestling events featuring national stars and some of Alaska’s best to fans throughout “the last frontier.” Speaking of the last frontier, Fallah Bahh was crowned WrestlePro Alaska Last Frontier Champion during the tour.
In a recent stream on the WrestlePro Alaska Facebook page, KM mentioned that one of the goals of WP Alaska was to help set up a wrestling scene in Alaska, changing the perception that in order to become a pro wrestler, you would need to leave the state. With the success of the Northern Expansion Tour, WP Alaska is definitely helping to make that a reality.
WrestlePro Alaska has already announced their next tour, The Great Alaskan Bash, which will be set for August of 2021 and plans to stop in Fairbanks, Anchorage, Palmer and Soldotna. Announced so far for the late August tour is Impact Wrestling star Brian Myers and ROH and NWA star Dan Maff.
All of the Northern Expansion Tour events are available to stream for free on the WrestlePro Alaska Facebook page.
