Big arena show scheduled for Sunday December 5th in Brazzaville
Brazzaville’s Nicole Oba Gymnasium will be rocking on Sunday, December 5th as some of Brazzaville’s best pro wrestlers take the ring for a big indoor arena show. The event, titled Super Show Down, will feature wrestlers from Catch Club Tempete Du Desert facing off against wrestlers from Catch Club Dragon Rouge and Catch Club La Main Noire.
Tempete Du Desert is headed up by RTGA Du Pouvoir Lion (which translates to RTGA Lion Power), the current champion of Brazzaville who recently won the 2021 Department Championship in Brazzaville to retain the championship title belt. RTGA got his start on the Congolese wrestling scene competing with Dragon Rouge, a catch club (a group of pro wrestlers that trains and competes together, similar to a pro wrestling training school and promotion) which was headed up by Congolese wrestler Robot Vipère.
RTGA came up through Dragon Rouge along with Cap 150 and Eyinda, both of whom would leave Dragon Rouge to start their own catch club, La Mains Noire. A couple years after Cap 150 and Eyinda left Dragon Rouge, RTGA faced off with Robot Vipère in a challenge match. RTGA won the match and Robot Vipère was exiled from Dragon Rouge as a result of his loss.
This video tells the story of the split of RTGA from Dragon Rouge and the creation of Tempete du Desert. The video is in French.
A few years would pass and RTGA would evolve into the powerful lion that he’s become in the ring in Brazzaville today. RTGA would eventually leave Dragon Rouge and start his own club, Tempete Du Desert. RTGA’s exit from Dragon Rouge created some bad blood between his new club and his former club while bad blood already existed between RTGA and his camp and the La Mains Noire camp due to their previous exit from Dragon Rouge.
So as a result, Tempete Du Desert is set to do battle with Dragon Rouge and La Main Noire Sunday December 5th in a series of grudge singles matches. Five matches have been announced so far for the big showdown.
The runner up in this year’s Departmental Championship, the big and powerful Nina Chaleur will do battle with Batista!
One of the founders of La Main Noire, Cap 150, will fight Bedezo!
Ours Noire will wrestle Guegue!
Third place finisher at the Departmental Championship, the masked Lourd Biankouikila will square off with Jeune Maitre!
The Champion of Brazzaville, RTGA Du Pouvoir Lion will take on catch fetiche specialist Lucifer!
The event is set for 13H (or 1 PM) Brazzaville time with free entry for fans.
