Two champions meet face to face in the DRC

This meeting has been in the planning stages for a couple weeks. Dix-Francs, the president and inaugural champion of World Wrestling Congo and Zombi De Kibambi, the champion of Africa, as recognized by Brussels Young Wrestling Style from Belgium, had a face off on Sunday and furthered discussions regarding a match between the two. Dix-Francs and Zombi De Kibambi have both discussed their willingness to put their titles on the line against each other but as of now, any matches between the two are strictly exhibition unless announced otherwise.

The meeting was originally planned for last Sunday at WWC’s home base of Melodrome Stadium in Kinshasa but Dix-Francs fell ill and needed treatment in the hospital. Now that the champion is fully recovered, two of Africa’s best were able to meet face to face for the first time.

Dix-Francs had been wrestling in South Africa for several years before returning home to start his own wrestling group, World Wrestling Congo. That’s one thing that the two champions have in common, as Zombi de Kibambi is the founder and president of Angola’s Catch Club Température D'Angola.

It will be interesting to see where this meeting leads. If we are able to get two of Africa’s top champions meeting in the ring out of it, that would be fantastic!
