Bodyzoi to hold first Belgian wrestling event of 2021

While much of the world is forced to put pro wrestling on hold, there is good news coming out of Belgium. For the first time in 2021, a Belgian wrestling promotion is preparing to put on a wrestling show! While there will be no fans in attendance, it is still a great first step toward pro wrestling starting up in the country again.

Bodyzoi Wrestling will take to YouTube live this Saturday for their event Bodyzoi III. A good portion of the card has been announced so far and it should be a good one, featuring some well known wrestlers from Belgium and some more from throughout Europe. The main event itself makes the show worth catching as Crimson is set to defend his Bodyzoi Championship against France’s Jack Spayne in what’s being described as an “extreme butcher match” between the new school and old school of European hardcore wrestling.

Elsewhere on the card will be a triple threat match between Tristan Archer, Aigle Blanc and a mystery opponent to determine the number one contender to the Bodyzoi title. Archer came up short against Crimson at The Road to Bodyzoi 3 last year to in his opportunity to grab the vacant title so surely he will be extra motivated and the promise of a mystery opponent always gets wrestling fans excited.

Check out Bodyzoi’s last full event, Road To Bodyzoi 3, which features Crimson winning the vacant Bodyzoi title.

One of Belgium’s top stars, Mike D, will square off with Belgian youngster MBM in a street fight that will hope to put their hatred for each other to an end once and for all. There are no rules in this one so for fans of hardcore wrestling, between this bout and the main event, you’re in for a treat.

In a match with some international flair, the circus strongman Georges Balzac will go one on one with Russia’s Crowchester. Also on the undercard will be Antoine Bernard vs. Senza Volto and Cormac Hamilton vs. Ultima Sombra.

Bodyzoi has been making waves in Belgian wrestling since their inception in 2019. They recently became the first Belgian promotion to be broadcast on Belgian TV in years and the promotion is promising that this event will also make Belgian TV. Along with that, the promotion is aligned with Germany’s uber-successful WXW and their events, including Bodyzoi III as of May 23rd, are available on WXW’s streaming service, wXW NOW. Bodyzoi III is a great way to get a glimpse into the rising Belgian wrestling scene and with it being provided for free, you don’t want to miss this. The YouTube link for the upcoming show is below, so bookmark it and subscribe to Bodyzoi’s YouTube so you don’t miss out.

As for shows with fans, things are looking good for pro wrestling in Belgium to return to performing in front of a live audience soon. Recent announcements indicate that, barring any more serious future waves of the Covid-19 virus, Belgian wrestling will be able to take place in front of indoor and outdoor crowds this summer!
